An online video showing a woman discharging a conducted energy weapon close to small dog inside a cage has led to the arrest of a 26-year-old.
On May 5, Windsor police initiated an investigation following several reports regarding a “viral video” that seemed to depict the mistreatment of a canine.
The footage, as stated by the police, depicts a woman bending down and using a conducted energy weapon close to a small dog confined within a cage.
“The agitated creature can be heard yipping and barking, with someone laughing in the backdrop,” according to a statement released by police on Wednesday.
Just before 10 p.m. on Monday, law enforcement officials found and apprehended a female suspect at a house on the 1100 block of Bruce Avenue.
The police stated that the dog was taken from the house and handed over to Windsor authorities.

The individual, who is 26 years old, faces charges related to inflicting undue pain on an animal as well as possessing a banned firearm.
