The impact of your kind messages, heartfelt prayers, and uplifting words cannot be overstated for both Officer Hodam and his loved ones as well as the whole Edmond Police Department community,” stated the department.
Based on legal papers, the accused individual, known to be 22 years old and named Ocean Hudson, allegedly approached Hodam when he was performing a traffic check close to 15th Street and Broadway. It is stated that Hudson possessed a can of pepper spray and used it on the police officer’s face, which led to an altercation.

The suspect told police he stabbed the officer because he wanted Hodam to shoot him, saying “I’m supposed to be in prison today,” according to the court documents. Hudson had been set to appear in court that day but did not show up.
Both Hodam and Hudson were taken to a hospital after the incident.
