EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) — Numerous children with disabilities participated in Holiday World’s Day of Play event.

About 3,000 from different Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky counties enjoyed the rides, food and games.

This marks the 33rd consecutive year that Holiday World has partnered with Easterseals for this event.

Authorities emphasize that it’s crucial for children to have unrestricted access to the park without any other visitors present.

It’s a day when they feel part of something bigger,” explains Sarah McKeehan, event coordinator at Easterseals. “I know that they have the chance to connect with other friends and relatives who they may not usually cross paths with. They return every year to catch up with one another, spend time together, and create a community beyond what they typically experience in their everyday lives.

Park officials mention that they will be contributing all of today’s admission fees to Easterseals, which amounts to approximately $40,000.
