He went on, saying, “One of my more junior staff members, a devoted Catholic himself, had an appointment with the Pope. As I watched him tear up before meeting him, it really emphasizes how significant both this individual and his institution are for more than a billion individuals around the globe.”

Vance described the pope as “very kind” and “very frail” due to his illness.
“We didn’t share much time together. Mostly we exchanged niceties, but he did offer some presents—like Easter baskets for my children—and there was one particularly heartwarming instance,” Vance explained.
The pope additionally presented the vice president with a Vatican tie along with some rosary beads.
“Absolutely, I value it,” Vance stated.
Vance said he
heard about the Pope’s passing
soon after landing in India.
“Clearly, I was deeply saddened, and my thoughts instantly turned to the pope as well as all those Catholics who hold him dear,” Vance said to Fox News Digital.
