The burial took place at Moscow’s Troekurovsky Cemetery on Monday, May 6, according to reports.
Moreover, pictures were shared displaying memorial setups established in Dagestan schools, highlighting Shikhabidov’s notable military service.
Putin
had lauded Shikhabidov and his division for their “daily successes” at the warfront as recently as April.
With significant battle experience under Putin’s command, Shikhabidov participated in numerous conflicts, receiving several awards for his duties in South Ossetia and Syria.
The 76th Guards Air Assault Division, under his command, has been active in the conflict with Ukraine since the onset in 2014.
