A technician who provided IT support for Robbinsdale Area Schools was taken into custody Tuesday on charges related to possessing materials involving child sexual abuse.
The St. Louis Park Police Department reported executing a search warrant at a residence located on the 5700 block of Highway 7 near 7 a.m., resulting in the arrest of a male individual for possessing child pornography.
It was subsequently verified that the individual is an employee of Robbinsdale Area Schools, offering technical assistance to both staff and various systems.
Derrick Williams, who serves as the director of communications for the school district, informed the police that the staff member did not have “any routine, unmonitored interaction with students.”
The case is still ongoing, with the man remaining detained at Hennepin County Jail.
