The Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has put out multiple severe thunderstorm alerts for southwestern Quebec on Saturday, covering areas like Montreal.
Consequently, the city has shut down numerous facilities and recommends that individuals confirm whether their planned activities have been canceled prior to visiting any municipal buildings.

including avoiding the use of camping heaters during a power failure, as this could lead to “a high risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.”

suggests that individuals head inside
when “thunder roars.”
Eric Tomlinson, a meteorologist from ECCC, informed Radio-Canada that areas at risk for tornadoes are situated to the east of the Richelieu River, within the Eastern Townships region.
“The current atmospheric conditions and instability suggest that thunderstorms might generate a tornado,” he stated.
