Teen caught allegedly trying to enter AFL match with imitation gun

A teenager reportedly got apprehended for attempting to sneak weaponry into Marvel Stadium in Melbourne during the Swans versus Bombers AFL match.

The second security concern related to the code within the last four weeks has sparked demands for increased watchfulness.

The police mentioned that the teenager, who was 15 years old, did not possess a ticket and attempted to get past security but was halted.

The police searched him and confiscated a replica firearm and a knife. He then received a warning and was permitted to leave without further charges.

State Sports Minister Steve Dimopoulous was asked if he thought he should have been charged.

He stated that he wishes to honor the police’s choice made on the day considering the circumstances. He acknowledged they were present, whereas he was not.

Witnesses informed Sazua.com that the teen’s possessions were laid out as investigators from the police went through them.

They mentioned that the firearm appeared genuine.

It was metal, black and even had an option to remove the magazine.

The AFL, owning the stadium, has not made any public statements; however, Sazua.com reports that the league is satisfied with the security arrangements.

It’s the second Australian Football League security concern within just four weeks.

Two fans were tackled by police inside the MCG during the Collingwood-Carlton clash.

The men in their
twenties were charged with carrying in two handguns.

The scare prompted enhanced security measures.

“We must guarantee that security measures are in place because the situation could cause widespread fear. If individuals believe they can attend such events armed without repercussions, the outcomes would be severe,” stated Opposition Leader Brad Battin.
