Daniel Vettori, the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), mentioned that his team aims to revitalize their tournament in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) by drawing motivation from Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) remarkable turnaround in 2024. Currently positioned near the bottom of the standings, SRH holds ninth place with only two victories out of eight games played, accumulating just four points so far.
The team led by Pat Cummins has failed to recreate the success from the 2024 season when they came in second place.

Daniel Vettori mentioned that multiple teams have faced a comparable situation and managed to revive their campaigns. He cited the instances of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2024 and Mumbai Indians (MI), emphasizing that these sides needed significant improvement across all three areas.
“The IPL has been running for many years now, with numerous teams finding themselves in similar situations. A handful of these teams managed to turn things around; remember how Royal Challengers Bangalore did so last season despite a tough beginning? We could draw motivation from such examples, as Mumbai Indians have also achieved this feat multiple times before. However, at the end of the day, it will require an exceptional individual effort since our combined performances were lacking except during those two victories. Therefore, significant improvements across every aspect will be necessary moving forward,” explained Vettori during his post-game media briefing.
After securing victory in only one out of their initial eight games, RCB managed to qualify for the playoffs in 2024 by winning their subsequent six matches, orchestrating an impressive turnaround. With six matches left in their schedule too, SRH aims to emulate this feat; however, the 2016 champions have different plans.
