CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago White Sox lost outfielder Andrew Benintendi during their victory against the Houston Astros due to tightness in his left calf.
Benintendi had three at-bats without getting a hit, but he managed to reach base due to an error in the fifth inning. He later scored when Josh Rojas walked with the bases loaded and two outs.
Brooks Baldwin substituted for Benintendi in the sixth inning and stayed on as the left fielder.
Benintendi is available for daily play. He has been hitting .224 with five home runs and 12 RBIs in 24 games.
The match on Sunday was interrupted by rainfall during the seventh inning and had to be stopped. The White Sox emerged as the winners.
