Jared Curtis Shows Unwavering Dedication to Georgia Football

The five-star quarterback Jared Curtis made his commitment official on Monday for the Georgia Bulldogs, demonstrating from the outset just how dedicated he is to joining their team.

Following his announcement that he’s assisting Kirby Smart with recruitment,
Specifically aiming to secure five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell,
Details about his NIL agreement have come to light, making him even more endearing.

Brooks Austin, who leads recruitment at the OnSI network, stated that Curtis opted to accept a lower salary from Georgia compared to what the Oregon Ducks had proposed.

He accepted a reduction in salary when moving to Georgia instead of taking the offer from Oregon,” Austin stated. “I’m not sure about the exact figure, but I’ve been informed it was significantly higher; ‘noticeably higher’ were the precise words used, as far as I recall.

As per Austin, Curtis will pocket anywhere from $600,000 to $800,000 during his first year at the organization in 2026. His income is projected to jump to a range of $1.2 million to $1.4 million when he enters his second year with the team in 2027.

All of Georgia’s upcoming NIL contracts, as mentioned by Austin, will be structured with more money allocated later rather than upfront.

Georgia and Curtis will have another negotiation before Year 3 begins, with his income depending on his performance in the initial two years.

Curtis, standing at 6 feet 4 inches with a weight of 220 pounds, initially pledged his commitment to Georgia last year. However, he chose to look into other possibilities last October before ultimately returning to them. Curtis holds the position of being the third-ranked prospect overall according to On3’s 2026 rankings, making him not only the highest-rated quarterback in the nation but also taking the top spot among quarterbacks from Tennessee.

In his junior year, Curtis guided his Nashville high school squad to a remarkable 13-1 season and clinched the state title. During this time, he threw complete passes at a rate of 70%, amassing 2,830 passing yards along with an impressive tally of 40 touchdowns against only three interceptions. Additionally, he rushed for 637 yards and scored another 18 times on foot. This stellar play secured him the prestigious honor of being named the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year.
