has disclosed that his most recent movie nearly cost him his life due to a hair-raising stunt.
The Surfer
Directed by Lorcan Finnegan, this film stars Cage as the titular Surfer who revisits his coastal hometown near an picturesque Australian beach with the intention of buying back his family residence.
The beach he holds dear is protected from strangers by a gang of local toughs headed by Scally (Julian McMahon), who have an aversion to both The Surfer and his son, The Kid (Finn Little).

‘They mentioned they spotted my board; they refer to it as “tombstone,” similar to that triangular top. While performing somersaults during the climb, I was scaling up the leash, and I could’ve easily perished.’
He remarked, “With a young child now, I’m not sure if I still want to proceed.”
