Horseheads (5-6): Braden Woodworth scored 4 goals and added an assist; Brogan Sullivan had 2 assists out of 5 attempts, Liam Kelly contributed 1 goal from 2 shots, Griffin Stevens netted 2 without any assists, Owen Johnson also scored 2 with zero assists, and Keenan McCarthy got 1 goal with no assists. The Blue Raiders staged a comeback after being down 4-1 at the end of the first quarter and dominated with a 19-4 advantage in face-offs.

At Vestal (6-4), the Golden Bears staged a comeback after falling behind 10-6 midway through the second half and initially being down 8-3 earlier. Brody Crowley contributed with 6 goals and 2 assists; Chris Pierce scored 2 points without an assist, Brodi Ahearn had 2 assists without scoring, Tom Vallely added 1 goal and 1 assist, and Cam Adams got 1 goal along with 2 assists. Aidan Ruhm made 12 saves during the game.

Corning (4-2) secured their victory when Kohl Hogue found the back of the net just 31 seconds before the end, pushing the Hawks ahead of Ithaca. Clayton Smith led the scoring with three goals, followed by James Freeman who contributed two. Additionally, Bradyn Zimmerman, Tully Fratarcangelo, and Brenden Jardin-Reed each added one goal apiece. For Ithaca (5-1), Owen Simons equalized at 8-8 within the last two minutes but couldn’t secure the win.

Tully Fratarcangeloscored 3 goals for Corning during their defeat against the reigning NYSPHSAA Class A champions. Dom DiNardochipped in 2 more goals, with Kohl Hoguemanaging to score once along with Joe Fucito. Ian Harpstercame up big with 15 saves in net.

Chris Hogue, the coach of Corning, stated, “The match was incredibly intense and at a high level for being the opening game of the season. I’m extremely proud of my players because they managed to come back twice after falling behind by two goals each time and even got the final chance to equalize; unfortunately, we were unable to convert it into a score.”
