A teen is reportedly alleged to have been apprehended for carrying a knife along with a replica firearm when attempting to access premises.

The teenager, who showed up without a ticket and couldn’t enter the match, was approached by police officers nearby. They discovered he had a pocketknife and a replica firearm on him during their search.

The police gave the young person a warning.

The Australian Football League has been reached out to for commentary.

This marks the second time the AFL has experienced a weapons-related issue following an alleged discovery of firearms involving two individuals during a Carlton-Collingwood match attended by over 82,000 spectators at the Melbourne Cricket Ground back in April.


The weapons were found following the incident involving the two individuals, who were out on bail, as they declined a security instruction to vacate the premises because of how they were behaving.

Authorities attributed the occurrence to a failure in the screening procedures.
