The severe thunderstorm warning issued for portions of the Greater Toronto Area by Environment Canada has been lifted following warnings about potential toonie-sized hail.
The national meteorological service reported monitoring a group of intense thunderstorms situated close to Georgina, Ontario, progressing northeastward at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour.
The alert mentioned that strong gusts and heavy precipitation could occur as well.
Individuals were urged to seek shelter right away upon the approach of a thunderstorm. Outside, people were warned to shield themselves from potential airborne particles and hailstones, as stated by Environment Canada.
