Fugitive Fake Nurse, Employed on Vancouver Island, Captured in U.S.

Police allege that a woman pretended to be a registered nurse when she was not, and practiced nursing on Vancouver Island before being apprehended in the U.S.

Last year, Charrybelle Talaue faced charges of fraud, forgery, and impersonation following accusations that she falsely claimed to be a registered nurse.

The alleged offenses began in December 2023 and took place throughout the Victoria region, according to statements from the Central Saanich police.

Extra fees were imposed in Alberta.

The police claim that Talaue has employed several false identities such as Charrybelle Perez Talaue, Charrybelle Talaue Baldesancho, Belle Talaue, Belle Marie, Charrybelle Baldesancho, Charie Talaue, Yves Anglehart, Belle Yves Talaue Anglehart, and again Charie Talaue.

As she awaited trial, Talaue escaped; subsequently, arrest warrants were issued. Eventually, the Central Saanich police located her in Idaho.

The Central Saanich Police stated on Tuesday that the individual suspected was apprehended with the help of the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The Talon has now been returned to Canada.

In 2023, when B.C.’s Health Minister at the time, Adrian Dix, was questioned regarding Talaue, he stated that he could not provide specific comments on the matter. However, he broadly remarked that individuals who falsify their qualifications to practice in healthcare are demonstrating a lack of respect towards those professionals who assisted British Columbia during the pandemic.

The B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives has a database which the public can use to confirm whether nurses and midwives are licensed to work in B.C.
